Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for Sudoku Crew — the web app at sudokucrew.com/play, the iOS and Android apps, and the backend they share. Sudoku Crew is designed for small private friend groups to share a daily Sudoku puzzle and leaderboard. We collect only what's needed to make that work, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.

What we collect

You can play without an account. If you sign in, we store:

• Email address — used only to send a one-time verification code when you sign in. Stored on our servers so we can recognise you on future sign-ins.
• Display name — the name shown to other members of groups you join. You choose this when you sign in.
• Group memberships — which groups you've joined and when.
• Daily scores — for each daily puzzle you complete: the puzzle, your time, mistake count, completion time, and whether you used the hint tutor or auto-pencil. Your name, time and badges are shown to other members of your groups.
• Multiplayer games — if you play multiplayer: the games you join and the moves you make, shown to the other players in that game.
• Notification token — only in the iOS and Android apps, and only if you allow notifications: a token from Apple or Google that lets us tell you when it's your turn.

Sudoku Crew also keeps data locally — in your browser for the web app, or on your device for the mobile apps: your in-progress puzzles, settings, and game history. That stays on your device and isn't sent to our servers. The web app doesn't use cookies.

What we don't collect

• No advertising identifiers (IDFA / Android Advertising ID).
• No location data.
• No contacts, photos, or files.
• No third-party analytics or tracking.
• No advertising of any kind.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to run Sudoku Crew:

• Verifying you're you when you sign in.
• Showing your name and scores to other members of your groups.
• Running multiplayer games and telling you when it's your turn.
• Generating the daily puzzle and leaderboard you see.

We don't use your data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose outside Sudoku Crew.

Who we share data with

We use these service providers to deliver Sudoku Crew:

• Cloudflare — hosts the website, backend and database. Cloudflare may see metadata about requests (IP, user-agent) for security and abuse prevention. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Resend — delivers the verification email when you sign in. Resend processes your email address only to send that message. See Resend's privacy policy.
• Apple and Google — deliver turn notifications to the mobile apps if you've allowed them. They receive only the notification itself and your device's token.

We don't share data with anyone else, and we don't sell your data.

Data retention

• Your account, display name, groups, scores and multiplayer history are kept until you delete your account.
• One-time verification codes expire after 15 minutes and are deleted.

Your rights and choices

• You can sign out at any time from Settings.
• You can leave any group from Settings.
• You can delete your account and all associated data yourself from Settings, or by emailing us — see Delete your account.

Children

Sudoku Crew isn't directed at children under 13. If you're a parent and believe your child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.

Changes to this policy

If this policy materially changes we'll update the effective date at the top. Continued use of Sudoku Crew after a change means you accept the revised policy.
